Do you want to learn all about your external flash and have all those buttons and dials explained to you in plain english? Let me teach you how to use your external flash to make your photos look perfect:)

This workshop is for anyone that has a general understanding of photography AND has a dedicated EXTERNAL FLASH.

This is a UNIQUE opportunity to extend your photography skills and learn all about flash photography.

This 1 day workshop will be split into 3 components –

The in’s and out’s of your external flash.

We will explore all of the buttons, dials, angles, flash compensation and everything else about you need to know about your flash.

Using your flash inside for great results.

This component explores taking great ‘inside’ photos using your flash without ugly shadows, using bounce flash and using your histogram to create ‘perfect light.’ We will practice portraits and ‘product’ photography inside, using our external flashes.

Using your flash outside during the daytime.

People are always surprised to know that one of the best times to use your flash is OUTSIDE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY…We will head into Parramatta Park to learn all about using our flash during the day, mixed with ambient light.

You will be given personal, easy to understand photography tuition and information relevant to YOUR external flash {yes, I study the workings of YOUR external flash before the tour.}

This workshop will get you super organised and COMPLETELY sorted 🙂

This workshop is divided into three sessions – over two days:

Session 1 covers how to quickly and efficiently UPLOAD AND ORGANISE your photos to your computer. Lightroom is a super powerful organisational tool and organising your photos and folders CORRECTLY from the start is the key. You will learn how to delete the photos you don’t want, star rate the ones you love {so you can find them easily later} and how to add ‘keywords’ and ‘copyright’ each time you upload a new shoot.

Session 2 covers EDITING in depth! You will learn basic editing steps such as addition of contrast and vibrance right through to advanced techniques such as lens correction and straightening of distorted buildings. I will also teach you all my best LIGHTROOM tips that I use to give my photos that extra pop!

You know I believe in getting it right in camera – but there are basic adjustments you can learn and apply to all your photos that will make them shine!!

Session 3 covers EXPORTING your photos for different mediums including social media, email, printing etc…You will also learn how to add a watermark to your photo’s and add a ‘preset’ {eg black & white or vintage} to create another version of your photo.

Macro, Landscape & Architecture Photography Tour – Mount Tomah Botanical Gardens & The Blue Mountains

This tour is for anyone that has a general understanding of photography OR has participated in click walk learns ‘The Rocks’ or ‘Cockatoo Island’ photography tours.

Do you want to learn more about Landscape and architecture photographyPLUS the wonderful world of Macro Photography?

Join me on the ‘click walk learn bus’ for this all inclusive photography tour to ‘Leura Cascades,’ Historic ‘Little Hartley’ Village and Mount Tomah Botanical Gardens.

Our first stop will be ‘Leura Cascades’ – a beautiful picnic ground andwaterfall close to the village of Leura. Here we can practice ‘slow movement techniques’ to create milky water in our waterfall photographs.

We will then travel to ‘Hartley Historic Village.’ This beautiful historic township is one of the first rural settlements west of the blue mountains. Here we will photograph the old sandstone buildings including the historic courthouse, ‘Corneys Garage’ and the beautifully restored ‘St. Bernards’ Church.

Hungry? Chill out for a while whilst enjoying a GOURMET PICNIC LUNCH {all inclusive} east of the village of Hartley….Here we can re group, relax and discuss everything about the mornings photography….all tastes will be catered for.

Our last stop for the day is Mount Tomah Botanical Gardens. This stunning ‘cool climate’ garden features plants from all around the world. There are spectacular views across the mountains which offer great opportunities for both macro and landscape photography. We will also enjoy afternoon tea in the cafe.

This day will hone & increase your skills as a photographer. You will learn all about landscape and architecture photography – including image sharpness plus ‘the rule of thirds’ and composition whilst exploring some of the best spots in the Blue Mountains.

Macro photography is a true art – learn how to get super sharp images, the use of depth of field to create interesting effects, using flash to create ‘night time’ macro shots in the daylight and much more!

You will be given personal, easy to understand photography tuition and information relevant to YOUR camera (yes, I study the workings of YOUR camera before the tour.)

By the end of the day you will feel more confident about both landscape, architecture and macro photography techniques and have a much better understanding of your camera.

Above all you will have fun, spend the day with like minded people who LOVE photography and learn alongside a PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER 🙂

You will need a DSLR CAMERA and a dedicated MACRO LENS for this tour { there will be ample opportunities for architecture and landscape photograph if you don’t have a macro lens.}
