SO many click walk learn photography tours….

Hi everyone,

It’s been a SUPER busy couple of weeks for click walk learn. I’ve met lots of new students who were so eager to learn about photography and their cameras..

Firstly, we set off to Canberra for a tour at the National Zoo and Aquarium…The weather was gorgeous and we all really enjoyed learning about ‘continuous focusing’ and polarising filters…

I would really recommend a visit to this zoo, it was really well set up with great opportunities to get up close and personal to lots of animals.

I also conducted a ‘continuous focusing’ tour in Canberra at the Belconnen dog Obedience Clubs Jumping & Agility Trials. We all loved this tour. The dogs ‘in action’ were awesome and everyone took lots of GREAT shots that we sent off to all the dog owners 🙂

Later that week, back in Sydney, I conducted a private day/night combo tour with Fiona from England. She LOVES visiting Sydney and wanted to learn all about taking better photos with her camera. We had a wonderful afternoon/evening out and about exploring our beautiful city…

On Thursday morning, I took some students to Coogee Beach for a ‘Sunrise & Sea Pools’ tour. The students loved learning all about getting great shots at sunrise plus how to freeze AND slow down the movement of the water._BP_4443

Then to top it all off, on Sunday I had another private tour along the coastal walk near Bondi…It was a dark and stormy afternoon and Catherine loved learning how to use her new variable Neutral Density filter:)_BP_4611

Fast action photography at Penrith Whitewater Stadium

A couple of weeks back the click walk learn VIP group headed to the Penrith Whitewater Stadium to photograph some super fast action on the water 🙂

This artificial whitewater sporting facility was purpose built for the canoe/kayak slalom events at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.

Today it is used for recreational rafting {great fun} and local, national and international canoeing/slalom events.

This ‘U’ shaped course is over 320 metres in length, 0.8 to 1.2 metres deep and between eight and 12 metres wide.

River pebbles set into the concrete create a ‘natural’ river feel. Movable obstacles are also added to vary the difficulty of the course and to fine tune the rapids.

A footpath follows the course all the way around which made getting in ‘close’ to photograph the action really easy. This path was built with the media in mind for the 2000 Olympic games. If you are interested in photography – it really is a great place to get some awesome shots..

I love fast action photography – we used super fast speeds to ‘freeze’ the water. Thanks everyone for a great day out – enjoy the pics 🙂

This years theme is A friend in Me – Celebrating Disney Pixar.

Over 400 tonnes of sand has been transformed by these super talented artists into the fantastic creatures from some of our favourite Disney Movies – The Incredibles, Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, Ratatouille and Cars.

We had a great time taking pics of these brilliant sculptures – you really have to see them up close to appreciate the time and effort that has gone into creating them.

This fabulous event is open until 26th January. Click here for details and more information.

click walk learn MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY tour to Fagan Park

Macro photography opens up a whole new way of seeing….In fact it really teaches you to ‘see’ and ‘take notice’ of what’s around you.

Last week, I took one of my click walk learn VIP’S, Leesa to Fagan Park in Sydney’s north west to teach her all about macro photography.

The park was huge and had many different ‘themed’ areas within that gave numerous photographic opportunities.

Leesa took some ‘awesome’ pics and learnt all about the finer tips of macro photography..

I’ll be highlighting some of her pics on the click walk learn face book page later on today.

If you’re are interested in this tour, I will be running it again in 2015 🙂
